«kopfräumen» untersucht anhand von animierten, dynamischen Loops die Ästhetik des Erinnerns und des Vergessens. Die Arbeit reflektiert die Rolle der individuellen Erinnerungspraxis im kollektiven Gedächtnis. Das kollektive Gedächtnis gilt als solches in seiner Existenz – welche, anders als beim individuellen Gedächtnis, nicht an Biomasse gebunden ist – als umstritten. Es bekommt in dieser Installation eine Form auf der Metaebene. Die Installation lädt die Rezipierenden ein, Teil des Erinnerungsraums zu werden und die herumschwirrenden Elemente als Erinnerungsanstösse zu verstehen.

“kopfräumen” (engl: headspace) explores the aesthetics of remembering and forgetting through animated, dynamic loops. The work reflects on the role of individual memory practices within collective memory. Collective memory, as such, is considered controversial in its very existence—which, unlike individual memory, is not tied to biological matter. In this installation, it takes on a form at the meta-level. The installation invites viewers to become part of the space of memory and to understand the elements swirling around as triggers for memory.
