Through multiple visual elements this project explores the significance of interpersonal relationships and community in the process of building our sense of self. How shared experiences shape us and how we see ourselves and the world around us. Working collaboratively with her circle of friends, Angela Bianca Bernhard reflects on the importance of belonging, especially for people who fall out of structured norms in a world where division and separation is being used as a tool of power. Starting from personal objects, acting as an entry door into shared memories and history. Together they create images that represent the experiences tied to these objects. Accompanied by personal texts of each person, talking about the meaning of their friendship. What Made Us, Made Me. What Makes Us, Makes Me is an Ode to friendship and unconditional love. The love we share with others is what unites us and what makes us strong.
