Life on Display

A decision-based game exploring oversharing and sharenting on social media.

Why?
Social media promotes publicizing everyday life, including personal data, relationships, and feelings. This can lead to losing control over how information about oneself or others is used. Through “sharenting”, even children are posted online, creating digital footprints that are difficult to erase.

What?
Life on Display is a decision-based game, where players make choices that shape the story and lead to different outcomes. Inspired by social media culture, it shows how small online decisions can escalate into larger consequences.

How?
Throughout the game’s story, players make decisions and instantly or gradually see the effects of their actions. These choices can impact relationships, reputation and personal privacy.

For whom?
This project is directed at people who actively use social media and those interested in narrative choice-based games. Through interactive storytelling, it invites them to reflect on digital privacy and responsible sharing.

Impact
Life on Display raises awareness about online privacy and behavior. It reveals how oversharing and sharenting can impact individuals, families and their long-term digital identities.
