The installation by Joanna Sommer de Almeida features a large dining table as the central element of familial gathering.

The work was created in memory of her mother, who passed away in June 2024. In the final days before her death, the dining table became a place of exchange – a shared space for closeness, conversation, and remembrance.

The piece reflects on collective mourning, memory, and reconciliation that came together around this table. On June 21, the artist’s family will gather for a shared dinner.

Afterwards, the table will remain in that state until the end of the exhibition – as a snapshot of farewell, shaped by intimacy, connection, and transience.
