Most organisations have a strategy for personal development. Yet growth often goes unnoticed in everyday work.
In a global manufacturing company, I explored why. Employees are often unsure what competencies look like in practice, while managers lack simple ways to recognise and discuss them. As a result, progress is easily missed or forgotten.
To address this, I designed a Development Conversation Guide for managers. The one-page tool helps bring development into existing work interactions without adding a new process. It turns everyday moments into opportunities for reflection, making growth more visible and easier to sustain over time.
