Flowmotion

An innovation hub for designing, co-creating and testing outdoor experiences.

Why? Flowmotion helps people add movement to daily life despite barriers like stress, low energy, or limited time. It tackles the emerging complex challenges that will shape outdoor experiences in the future by building an innovative, inclusive and accessible ecosystem.

What? An Outdoor Experience Innovation Hub in Lucerne addresses safe, accessible and regenerative outdoor experiences by connecting lake, city, and mountains — reducing users‘ pressure, supporting local actors and enabling flow-based co-creation with nature, culture, and community.

How? Lucerne’s mountains and lakes provide an ideal living lab for Flowmotion, enabling decentralized real-world outdoor experience testing and innovation. The project motivates users by integrating all stakeholders to test and feedback outdoor experiences to bridge the gap between theory and practice.

For whom? Flowmotion serves those seeking meaningful, accessible movement in daily life and all stakeholders in Lucerne’s outdoor experience ecosystem — local communities, outdoor enthusiasts, tourism, industry, researchers, and environmental groups — creating value for users and the wider ecosystem.

Impact? Users gain renewed connection to their bodies and joy of movement and flow. Being active together, creates belonging, shared experiences and healthier communities. Furthermore, Flowmotion allows a more nuanced understanding of the complex interplay between risks and stakeholder interests.
