Shifting perspectives

Why
As climate change mitigation and adaptation become more urgent, policymakers face mounting pressure. Current measures increasingly affect daily life across Germany, making it essential to design and communicate policies that include all social groups and reflect their diverse contexts.

What
The project “Shifting perspectives” combines workshop facilitation, observation, and exploratory design artifacts. Grounded in core principles, these artifacts offer multiple approaches to communicating climate change mitigation and adaptation, aiming to foster greater public acceptance and participation.

How
To support effective implementation, the underlying principles emphasize that communicating governmental measures is not a final step but a long-term, ongoing initiative. Artifacts like a reflective chatbot help apply these principles in daily life.

Whom
The outcomes offer practical guidance for policymakers and communication professionals in municipalities and institutions, focusing on how communication can drive transformation.

Impact
Measuring the impact of climate transformation takes time. The hypothesis is that applying these principles builds momentum for more inclusive debates. This happens by fostering participatory formats that shift communication toward a collective approach, especially within marginalized groups.
