Designing Well-being for Assistant Doctors

This bachelor’s thesis explores the well-being of Assistant Doctors at Cantonal Hospital Olten and addresses the critical issue of burnout in healthcare. It analyzes how elements such as schedules, workload, and teamwork affect their well-being and recommends interventions to improve their health, happiness, and professional fulfillment. By drawing on doctors› experiences, the study identifies positive aspects like collaborative teamwork and fulfilling patient interactions, as well as challenges such as heavy administrative burdens and time pressures. The research has resulted in nine interventions aimed at improving work-life integration, streamlining administrative tasks, enhancing collaboration, and prioritizing well-being. These interventions are designed to initiate a transformative process, fostering a supportive healthcare environment that elevates the well-being of Assistant Doctors and improves the quality of patient care.
