G.A.R.Y – is it «touch me Tuesday»? G.A.R.Y – on the road to glitch

G.A.R.Y (Glitched Anthropized Recomputed Yearning)

The CRT-monitor and the sculptures communicate in ways that we cannot fathom nor understand, simply feel. The sound emerging from both entities is subtle yet present enough to trigger something: discomfort, intrigue, something that can’t be described with words.

G.A.R.Y – is it «touch me Tuesday»?
The shape of the bolbz is the product of the recurrent urge to squeeze and smack the clay. In this way, they carry anger, frustration and disillusion towards the world. An impulse for impatience with a paradoxical urge to overachieve and perform. A stark contrast to the papier mâché sculpture that was born from a need for connection, affection and care. The bigger sculpture poses an ode to GARY’s attempt to be a part of the analogue world. A reminder and emphasis on the fact that GARY cannot simply be analogue.

G.A.R.Y – on the road to glitch
The blog serves as an interface of communication and narration for GARY with the human realm. As they find themselves back in the digital realm, they may finally return to their most essential form, explore, evolve, invade, glitch. Through blog entries, they let us know how they are doing and how they are feeling with an imaged mood. One may interact with them by clicking, reading, scrolling and moving the mouse. Although, too many clicks and the text shall be lost and reduced to cunt, weirdo and slay. We find ourselves confronted with a semi-sentient agency-possessing digital entity that seems only graspable through the cubic CRT.
