Communication Perceptions and Impacts

Young Female Cancer Patients Aged 20-30

This project highlights the gap in the healthcare system where young female cancer patients aged 20-30 are overlooked and feel a lack of agency over their bodies. Women in this age group frequently face challenges when seeking a diagnosis, including insensitive communication from healthcare providers, attributing physical symptoms to mental health issues, and limited access to specialists.

Additionally, women‘s symptoms, especially related to gynecologic health, are often not recognized as abnormal, leading to underdiagnosis and inadequate medical care.

These issues create distrust between patients and healthcare providers, undermining communication and trust, which leads to miscommunication and hindered treatment progress.
