Ausgangspunkt dieses Projekts ist eine konsumkritische Haltung mit Fokus auf den Versandkarton als sichtbares Ergebnis des Onlinehandels. Der Karton dient als Hinweis auf unser Konsumverhalten sowie auf gesellschaftliche und technologische Entwicklungen. Dabei zeigt sich, dass wirtschaftliche Produktion nach Effizienz und Wachstum organisiert ist: Marktlogiken bestimmen, was produziert wird, während eine bedürfnisorientierte Produktion nur wenig berücksichtigt wird.
Das Projekt richtet die Aufmerksamkeit auf den Versandkarton als Nebenprodukt des Konsums. Aus Sammelkarton entstehen temporäre Sitzmöglichkeiten im öffentlichen Raum, die in selbstorganisierter Weise gestaltet werden. Diese Situation ermöglicht einen Treffpunkt, an dem Kritik, Theorie, Material und Gesellschaft miteinander ins Gespräch kommen.

The starting point for this project is a critical stance towards consumption, with a focus on the shipping box as a visible by-product of online trade. The cardboard packaging serves as a reminder of our consumer behaviour as well as of social and technological developments. It becomes clear that economic production is organised around efficiency and growth: market forces decide what is produced, while needs-oriented production is given little importance.
The project draws attention to the cardboard packaging as a by-product of consumption. Temporary seating in public spaces is created from collected cardboard, designed in a self-organised way. This situation allows for meeting place where criticism, theory, material and society come into dialogue with each other.
