Why
Social media turns cities into stages for self-performance. Places are no longer the subject of attention but become interchangeable backdrops, with strategic poses and framings planned before we even arrive.
What
An encounter with our own acts of self-presentation is at the core of this project. Through layered textiles, reflective postcards, and moving-image fragments, familiar poses, framings, and actions are brought into focus, inviting reflection on social media behaviours that usually go unnoticed.
How
A video essay presented within a spatial installation combines layered textiles, reflective surfaces, and moving images to reconstruct fragmented social media scenes. By physically placing visitors within these shifting compositions, the installation turns them into part of the staged environment itself.
For Whom
his project is intended for navigating identity and self-image in the age of social media. It offers a space that invites awareness of one’s own behavior, encouraging viewers to reconsider how they capture and engage with an urban context.
Impact
This project challenges how we experience and represent the city. By translating familiar online behaviours into a physical installation, it encourages a more conscious engagement with everyday image-making, while inviting urban and cultural actors to reconsider how visibility shapes urban interaction.
