Why
The design of modern gadgets may impress but it often carries hidden social and environmental costs. Modernisation novelty can overshadow function and meaning. By making these costs apparent the project sparks discussion and promotes sustainable, accessible, user-focused design.
What
The project proposes a platform and workshop series examining poor user experiences in modern tools and services. Through critique and dialogue, participants explore the social costs of current design practices and imagine alternatives that prioritise public benefit over shareholder interests.
How
During a workshop participants uncover toxic designs and dark patterns. By highlighting their economic, social, and environmental costs, the event raises awareness and inspires better solutions. A platform will showcase crowdsourced new issues and involve UX Designers adapt these.
