Cultivating Mental Well-Being in the Workplace

This bachelor’s thesis explores enhancing mental well-being at AXA, a leading Swiss insurance company, through improved communication strategies and better utilisation of existing mental health resources. Research revealed a significant gap in awareness and accessibility of said resources, despite AXA’s robust support systems. This led to the development of the Mindful Symbol intervention, a visual tool designed to raise awareness, encourage discussions, and direct employees to mental health resources. Iterative design and testing phases refined the intervention to include interactive elements like QR codes for easy resource access. Findings highlight the importance of a supportive workplace culture, employee empowerment, and consistent leadership involvement. This intervention aligns with AXA’s values and serves as a model for other organisations aiming to improve mental well-being, contributing to the broader discourse on workplace mental health and emphasising comprehensive, integrative approaches for a healthier, more productive work environment.
