Private vehicle use makes up one fifth of the global yearly emissions produced. Therefore, research about propulsion methods and new usage models for cars are needed to make them more sustainable. Luckily, electric cars and, maybe more importantly, new usage models like car sharing and subscriptions are surging in popularity. This thesis looks at the Swiss shared automotive mobility market, compares the environmental impact of different usage models and spots opportunities to foster shared vehicle use through the lens of a car subscription provider in Switzerland.
