Zufällige Begegnungen mit Dingen können bei jedem Menschen ganz persönliche Erinnerungen und Assoziationen hervorrufen, die uns augenblicklich emotional mit ihnen verbinden. Im Projekt «Pool 17» habe ich das leere, unbenutzte Hallenbad meiner Grosseltern also Inspirationsquelle für eine Halbfabrikat-Stoffkollektion verwendet. Zahlreiche Details aus dem Jetzt-Zustand des Bads, wie auch einzelne Motive, die nicht mehr vorhanden sind, wurden zu Entwürfen umgestaltet, um einerseits diesen Ort festzuhalten und andererseits Erinnerungen zu wecken. Dabei wurde auf visueller, haptischer und olfaktorischer Ebene gearbeitet, um bei den Rezipient*innen selbst möglicherweise Erinnerungen wachzurufen.

For all of us, chance encounters with things can evoke very personal memories and associations that we instantaneously emotionally identify with them. In the project «Pool 17» I have taken my inspiration from my grandparents› empty, disused indoor pool to produce a semi-finished textile collection. Numerous details from the current state of the pool, as well as individual motifs that are no longer there, are re-shaped to make designs: on the one hand to capture the specific place, and on the other and to arouse memories. In the process, the project works at a visual, tactile and olfactory level in order to potentially trigger memories in the recipients themselves.
