Known to Services started as a documentary short about homelessness and the vast disparity of wealth in Ireland. But it became much more.

Over the course of the project there were a huge amount of people, stories, ups and downs, sad realisations, happy revelations and all kinds of mixed emotions for Ireland and Irish society. Anger and frustration being the the predominant ones. All of these issues and anecdotes seemed to be very important stories to tell but any one of them was far too big for a documentary short. 

The resulting concept was to try and untangle this web of stories, data, statistics and information and lay them out as a series of short explainer videos which presented the ideas as succinctly as possible, shining light on some dark realities in Irish society which are easily overlooked.

The Known to Services project is an ongoing examination of Ireland.
