We move through spaces that constantly demand our attention—bright
lights, layered sounds, visual clutter, movement, information. Often
without noticing, our perception remains permanently active.
Based on my research into overstimulation and concentration in a
classroom at the School Brühl in Solothurn, this project explores how
spatial atmosphere, light and materiality can support focus and
well-being within learning spaces. Inspired by the feeling of sitting
beneath a tree, the installation presents a prototype for a calming
retreat area designed for classroom environments.
So take off your shoes, walk in, and slow down for a moment.
