The MSc International Financial Management (IFM) got accredited by the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) as an education partner. With this unique partnership in Switzerland IFM students are able to prepare their career in management accounting even better.

What is CIMA?

CIMA is the world’s largest professional body of management accountants and has therefore a widely recognised reputation not only in Europe but also in the rest of the world. Its aim is to help people succeed in management accounting, in both the public and private sector.

What is the CIMA Professional Qualification?

The CIMA Professional Qualification is built out of an operation, a management and a strategy level and validates skills in areas ranging from risk management and financial strategy to management accounting. To receive this qualification, usually 15 exams have to be successfully passed.

What are the Benefits for IFM Students?

All IFM graduates are able to join CIMA through an accelerated route designed specifically for individuals holding an MBA or Master’s in Accounting. This route will allow the IFM graduates to take the CIMA master’s gateway assessment. Once this assessment is successfully passed, 11 exemptions will be granted and this allows to progress straight to the strategic level of the CIMA Professional Qualification. Students who do not wish to take this gateway route will be eligible for one exemption (E1) and will enter directly into the operational level.

This qualification is a valid opportunity if you consider working in an international company mainly in the field of management accounting. It gives you extra credibility and status as a professional.
